Depression, now that is a funny word. The oxford dictionary describes it as ‘severe despondency and dejection, especially when long-lasting and accompanied by physical symptoms’. What could be worse than that? Surely to be depressed is one of the worst things in the world. You cannot free yourself from these bonds that drag you down into a pit of darkness. No amount of friends, money, kind words or concerns can set you free. Nothing could be worse. Most of the time, depression is a random onset. No real cause set in its malevolent path to destroy your soul and emotion. Most of a time, this is just a period in someone’s life, a ‘one off’ experience. Imagine if you had to live, everyday, in either happiness, or constant sadness.
